“All I can tell you is this: Just wait and see in the next two weeks before you make any judgments and see what happens in the national landscape,” Patterson said. “Things that I know that maybe you don’t know. That’s all I’m going to tell you.”

Wah?!?! Let’s see here, there’s only two things Gary Patterson could know that we could not- the fate of the MWC or the fate of TCU. So which do we not know?

College football season is almost upon us. The excitement is tangibly in the air. So of course, to get ready I had to get my new man cave set up throughout the year. This year features a new 52″ plasma HD TV, leather sofa and love seat, lovesac and Tivo. I am so set to watch as many games as my wife will allow…usually one a week Now if only I could talk her into letting me get a pool table, then I’d have the ultimate set up. How is everyone else preparing for the upcoming season?

Hey folks, you may have noticed a new ad in the sidebar for fantasy college football. Well, I wanted to get the word out to everyone because I think this fantasy football site rocks. First off, I’ve never done fantasy football because I hate drafting players. It takes forever, you have to follow tons of people, the points are confusing…its just too much. At Big Nasty Football they have you draft teams and not players. So you get points based on if your team wins, if they beat ranked opponents, if they win a BCS game or conference championship, etc. You get bonus points if they score a lot or allow a little. It’s really awesome. Normally it is $15 to sign up a league and then $15 per person to join. But if you signup before 9/15/10 (which I would do because the season will have started by then), use coupon code Cafeteria and get $5 off!

I’d also like to announce that the College Football Cafeteria league has been formed, and we’re still looking for two people to fill our league! I’m opening this up to our readers, so if someone wants to join our league, email me at admin@collegefootballcafeteria.com. There’s only two spots and they are both going to be free, so don’t worry about any cost to you. Just email me if you’re interested and see if you can top us. Do well enough and we may make you an author on the blog or include your picks on the predictions page! So make a league with your friends or join ours, either way its a ton of fun. Go to http://www.bignastyfootball.com to sign up!

College Football Cafeteria is trying to increase readership and that means more blog posts. I’m only one person and simply cannot do as many as I would like. If anyone is interested in becoming an author on this blog, just email me at admin@collegefootballcafeteria.com. If you have been reading, you know what kind of stuff I”m looking for. Anti-BCS, highly speculative realignment rumors, the joys of a playoff and other topics are all welcome. Blog as often as you would like. I’ll just edit them for formatting issues before they go live and then post them. Those who become regulars will even get to participate in the weekly predictions on our predictions page. All right, there you have it, let me know ASAP folks. Thanks!

Don’t believe me? Then just check out this video. They had an average guy in a suit run a 40 yard dash. Then they have some football players run the same distance. They of course do it in just a fraction of the time. Even the big dude. So next time you throw a hot dog at the TV and complain that the running back on your favorite team didn’t turn the corner, think of this video and how humiliated you would be if you even tried to strap on some pads and run with these guys.

I just wanted to let everyone know I’m making great progress on my own computer rankings. My first run at it was with Boise State. I took their season average in points scored and allowed minus the game against TCU, then took TCU’s season average in points scored and allowed. I then took Boise State’s season average and compared it to each of their opponent’s season average, minus their game against each other. I determined that Boise State should expect to score about 1.5 times their opponent’s season average in points allowed. They should also expect to hold their opponent to about 65% of their season average in points scored. Interesting results.
