Preview: Top Quarterbacks in College Football

I know that our readers are savvy connoisseurs of college football, so don’t really need a big introduction into the importance of Quarterbacks in college football, but just know that I think in the vast majority of situations, a team goes as it’s quarterback goes. Exceptions include Alabama who has an average to subpar quarterback but excels because it’s Defense and Running game are so dominant. So unless your school has a defense and running game like Alabama’s, you need a good to great quarterback to carry your team. So without further adieu, here’s my rankings for this upcoming year.

Preseason Preview: LSU vs. North Carolina

Alabama as the Preseason Number One?

Many pundits are already praising Alabama as the preseason number one favorite. While I admit this is likely going to happen, should it? They did win the BCS championship, although controversially, and they do return a bunch of those same players. I’m sure their recent success has seen an increase in Alabama merchandise sales, but should it see an increase in their preseason ranking? I think not.

Super Early Predictions for 2010 Preseason Rankings

Yeah, yeah, it’s early. But we know a lot of players who are staying and going now, so we can formulate some good guesses as to who the good teams will be in 2010. We also have a lot of peoples’ preseason polls coming out, so we can put that together to get a good look at what the preseason rankings are likely to be. Then again, based on my last post, it’s not like the rankings mean much. But in the spirit of irrelevance, here are my preseason rankings for 2010.

My Prediction for the Final Rankings

The bowl season is nearly over and we have learned a lot of things. The MWC is a lot better than we thought, the Pac-10 is much worse than we thought, and the Big Ten is surprising everybody. With that in mind, I’m going to call Texas winning the championship because Ingram won the Heisman, I’m going to call TCU big over Boise State, I’m picking Georgia Tech over Iowa because one top Big Ten team has to lose, and I’ll say Central Michigan over Troy, for the MAC’s sake. So what would that make the rankings look like? Here’s what I think we can expect.

The Final 2009 BCS Rankings and Bowls

These of course are not out yet, but through my sloppy sapience, I will just tell you what is going to happen this weekend, who gets ranked where, and who ends up in which bowls. How you ask? Simple, I’m guessing. As we’ve seen from some past predictions, my guesses don’t always go so well. Which can mean two things. Either I’m bound to be right this time for once, or you can always believe the opposite of what I predict. You can decide.
