For everyone who thinks Florida deserves number one because of them being in the mighty SEC, think on this- currently on Florida's schedule you have ONE team that ended last season ranked. BYU has a total of FOUR teams on their schedule who ended ranked...three of them in the top ten!

If you look at schedules, an undefeated BYU should be ranked higher than an undefeated Florida, but you know that would never happen. Thats why rankings are stupid. Who care where Ole Miss is ranked right now. Who cares where LSU is ranked right now. Means nothing, because rankings are kind of dumb, preseason being the dumbest of all.

Flez is right though, Nebraska is a shoe in against Texas for the Big 12 title game. Should be a good one.

Brennan-

You guys will be the Clemson of last year and lay an egg. Okay, maybe not quite that bad. Perhaps the Missouri of last year. Or LSU. Or Auburn. It happens every year. There are at least three teams that are picked in the top 10, that are big time busts. That will be Ole Miss this year. Mark it in your book.

Watch out for the Huskers this year, may still be rebuilding but will definitely bust into the top 25. Probably take Notre Dame's spot after they lose a couple of times (of course, I've seen ND teams that have 2-3 losses and are still rated above good undefeated teams).

Brennan my man, take deep breaths and get your feet back on the ground. Put out wharever you are smoking and get a grip. Firstly, Ole Miss is gonna be good...not that good. 'Bama and The Bayou Bengals are gonna whoop you like a rented mule....in Oxford. Don't be too hasty to put UT and Arkansas in your W column as well. And I'll share somwthing else with ya....ya gonna have trouble in Columbia. Don't forget last season, this average team strolled into Oxford...kicked your butts...and came home. Expect problems in Nashville as well. Good luck with that 10-2 my man

New York Yankees Blog -

I'll agree with 1-4, but I don't see how you can say Ole Miss will be a big-time bust. You didn't see the Cotton Bowl last year, when #24 Ole Miss stroked the hell out of #7 Texas Tech? We didn't lose much from last year - yeah I know we lost Michael Oher and Peria Jerry, but we've got the holes filled well - and we've got one of the top recruiting classes in the country. We've got one of the top 3 pure passers in the country in Jevan Snead, and if my observations at practice are correct, he's even better than he was last year. We averaged 45 points/game over the last 4 games last year, and yet, we were known for our havoc-wreaking defense. I'm telling you now - we probably won't end up in the top 5 like some of the rankings have us, but we won't be lower than 15, I assure you. We've got an admittedly easy schedule: non-conference games feature Memphis, Southeastern Louisiana, UAB and Northern Arizona. Our conference schedule is about as easy as it can get in the SEC West: we pick up South Carolina, Vandy, and Tennessee from the East, playing at SC & Vandy and we get Tennessee at home, as well as home games against Bama, Arkansas and LSU. Our road games are: Memphis, SC, Vandy, Auburn, and Mississippi State. We should be 5-0 on the road. I don't see us losing to anyone but Bama or maybe LSU at home, but neither of those games are failsafe wins for the visiting teams. We've got a schedule that should easily put us 10-2 or better. There's no way we don't end up top 15.

The Hatred for ND needs to stop here, all of you forget what the school stands for and where that money goes. The football program does alot for a school that does alot for society. Notre Dame will never have the return on investment other schools get because they still value education... The requirements keep convicts out that are great football players but still the school stands firm. there is something respectable about that. The basketball program suspended one of the best shooters in big east history for marijuana possesion. Show Me ONE other football school who has done that. Values and Moral behavior should say more to all the haters out there than this. WE do not have rapists and drug dealers and over look it because they are amazing athletes. Bottom line ND has the right to do what they do because they are ND. i would be willing to bet most of the haters out there couldnt have went to notre dame if they had 4 years tuition in cash because the school isnt like that. It takes brains and talent and being a human being... if the Ncaa had policies like that no one else would win a game
